Alex Public Schools would like to thank everyone that took the time to vote in yesterday's election. The 4-6 grade football team will be scrimmaging in Velma this Saturday starting at 8 am.

Tomorrow is election day! Polls open at 7 AM!
Our first FCA meeting kicked off last week. Clara Wright, a senior, organized the event and it was successful. There were over 30 students in attendance ready to make it a fulfilling and fun year. Thank you to the Southern Baptist Church in Alex for providing lunch for the FCA members. FCA is for 6th-12th graders and they will meet every other Wednesday. It’s always a great day to be a Longhorn!
APS students want to send a huge “Thank You!” to donors who supported the the Southern District Livestock Show cake auction held at the APS show barn last week. Looking forward to the Grady County Fair this week, August 25-27th.

Our 4-H officers shared some of their favorite projects at the meeting this week. They did such a great job demonstrating some of the many opportunities 4-H has to offer! Great job!
Students from Rush Springs, Ninnekah, Verden, & Chickasha joined APS students Monday evening for the Dist Livestock Show. APS Students won 4 Grand & 6 Reserve Grand Champions, with numerous Showmanship Awards. Thank you to the supporters the Cake Auction brought in over $8,500.
Thank you to Under Sherriff Boggess and APS Resource Officer Rhyne for assisting us with our Security Drill today. We are always looking for ways to make our campus and students safer!

The University of Central Ok is bringing a representative to speak to our seniors on Sept. 7th at noon in the library. Seniors are highly encouraged to attend.

Good morning! We want to let the community know we are having a security drill this morning. The Grady Co Sheriff's office is assisting with this so if you see some extra patrol cars in the area just know this is just a drill. We are excited to partner with the Grady County Sheriff's office.
Alex 4-H is having our first meeting of the year tomorrow at 3:45pm in HS room 307. We invite students to come see what all 4-H has to offer! Please remember, K-1st-grade students need a chaperone. Hope to see you there!
