5th grade learned about the Caldecott Medal today in the library. Sabrina Clemmons & Skyla Hufferd won a mock Caldecott award for the best illustrations representing They All Saw a Cat. Congratulations!
Longhorn Classic Update: Thursday's Games for the Longhorn Classic are cancelled. We are monitoring the weather and at this time we are planning to play the first-round games on Friday at the same times as they were scheduled for Thursday. Updates will be posted if there are further changes.

We are so fortunate to have people who care at APS. Thank you, officer Melton, for educating our 6th-12th graders on bullying, different Ok laws, vaping and other things. We appreciate officer Melton and all students who were attentive during the assembly.
7th hour Spanish class enjoyed a fiesta, consisting of their favorite Mexican dishes!
JH plays today, Dec. 19th, at 4:00 pm. Homecoming festivities will be at 6:00 pm and the girls game will follow. Come and support our Longhorns.
The elementary library staff enjoyed having 5th graders who met their AR goals this semester. They played bingo, drank hot chocolate, and shared their Christmas research with us! Bingo winners were Sabrina Clemmons, Rylan Reynolds, Jarrett Shi, & Kate McLemore.
Third graders enjoyed their AR reading reward today in the library. Hot chocolate, cookies, & bingo for the win! Bingo champs were Kaylynn Simmons & Kinsley Hufferd.
