Alex FFA held the annual Awards Banquet yesterday evening to recognize the accomplishments of our hard working members. Throughout the year our members are dedicating hours caring for livestock, studying for contests, and developing their skills, all while juggling schoolwork and other extracurriculars. Congratulations to those who received awards and "Thank You" to everyone who attended to cheer on our students!
Congratulations to Abby Pettijohn for winning the Environmental Services Division at the State FFA Agriscience Fair! She conducted an in depth research project, compiled and analyzed data, wrote an extensive research paper and presented to a panel of experts in her journey to be a state champion. Abby will be representing Oklahoma at the national contest in the fall. This is a monumental achievement and we are so proud of Abby's hard work!
The career fair/senior conference is Monday, May 1st. We have 13 presenters and 10 of them are Alex alumni. 6th-12th graders need to fill out the Google form that was sent to their email. The students will have an opportunity to attend 5 sessions plus an open forum with the presenters set up in the gym. We are very excited about this event.
If you are a concurrent student wanting to continue to take college classes, you need to fill out the recommendation form with your class choice(s) ASAP. Go to Alex webpage under counselor corner for links to OCCC and Redlands. New concurrent student need to apply and fill out recommendation forms. Email Mrs. Byrne for questions. Classes will fill up.
Order forms for Elementary Fun Day T-Shirts are going home today. Please turn your forms in to the elementary office no later than Monday, May 1, 2023.
Lost and found spread out in the stage. If anything looks familiar, tell your child to grab it. Everything goes to goodwill at the end of the week.
We will be hosting another presentation by the Grady County Sheriff's Office and the DEA regarding the dangers of Fentanyl for parents, teachers, and the community to attend today at 7PM in the High School Gym. The presentation will consist of a slide show, video, and question and answer session. This presentation will be open to the public. Teachers and parents from other schools are encouraged to attend. Congratulations to Saydi Swanson, Persephanie Johnson, Keller Alcorn and Brandon Scrivener for placing at the Area games in Norman. They all qualified to compete in the state games in Stillwater on May 17-19!!

It was a busy day for these 7th and 8th grade Academic Team Members! They competed at STATE and gave it their best shot!! Team members include: Cason Stidham, Dru Serrano-Anderson, Parker Serrano-Anderson, Rocky Byrd, Gracie Montalbo, Marleigh Rodriguez and Kara Pettijohn. Owen Pettit and Yoselyn Rios came along as time and score keepers!
Kindergarten has been patiently watching our eggs and awaiting the arrival of our chicks! It was so exciting to watch the hatch!
TSA State Conference Winners! We are so incredibly proud of all of our TSA kids. They did such an amazing job representing Alex Schools. We had a successful conference and our Middle School is back to back State Champions!! Congratulations
