The counselors toured one of the new programs at Canadian Valley Tech Center, Hospitality Management. We were able to see some of the students in action. Saydi Swanson was in the middle of making cookies (they smelled amazing) and she agreed to stop and take a picture. We love seeing our career tech students working hard.

In an effort to safely load our students at the end of the day, please be aware of the following procedures. Once the buses have lined up in front of the high school, please do not go around the buses on either side. You can line up behind the buses and follow them through the pickup line. We ask that you follow the posted one-way signs during drop off and pick up. If you need to enter the parking lot after the buses have lined up, you can enter on the north side. Thank you for looking out for the safety of our students.

Welcome to Alex, Copan Combs. Thank you for coming to speak to our seniors about Oklahoma State University.

Chromebook Information: If your child is in grades 6-12, they have the opportunity to purchase insurance for their Chromebook. The $20 insurance policy would cover the cost of replacement/repair for incidental damage that was not intentional in nature. If students chose not to purchase the insurance, the cost of replacing a Chromebook is $200, screen repair-$60, lost charger $35 (or replace independently). If you chose to purchase, it must be purchased in advance of any damage. Checks can be made out to Alex Public Schools and turned in to the high school library. Students have until September 8th to purchase insurance for the 2023-24 school year.

After consulting with local law enforcement about the safety of our walkers, we ask that students use a designated crossing spot on Main Street. We ask that students that have to cross main street on their walk home, cross at the corner of F street and Main. When available, a town officer will monitor the crosswalk, and volunteers will help as well. The district will be in ongoing conversations with ODOT about the possibility of improving the safety of our walkers.

The 4th-6th grade Football Game has been canceled today. It is being rescheduled. 1st-3rd is still playing.

Parents and Guardians of Elementary Students,
Beginning Monday, August 28, 2023, our 1st and 2nd grade students will begin having breakfast in the lunchroom instead of going to their classrooms in the mornings.
If you would like for your 1st or 2nd grader to eat breakfast before school they need to be dropped off at the same location they have been between 7:30 and 7:55 and they will go to the commons area to eat.
The breakfast routine for PK, KG is the same as it has been, which is to come from the drop off line to the elementary building and they will continue to eat in their classrooms.
3rd, 4th, and 5th grade breakfast is unchanged as well.
Thank you for your flexibility and patience as we continue to work through our beginning of year
