The start of school is right around the corner and we are excited to welcome back our Alex Longhorns on August 12th! We know families still have some questions so we will try to answer the ones we know of here.
Drop Off/Pick Up Information
Students can be dropped off at the gate between the HS and Elementary at 7:35 for the 2026-2027 school year. Breakfast will be served from 7:35-7:55 with the exception of PK/K who will eat after the rest of the students have gone to class.
Elementary carline pick up will begin at 3:10. If you have students in both buildings feel free to pick up your elementary student first and then park in the main parking lot to wait for your MS/HS student to be released at 3:25. Please do not check out older students early unless they have an appointment to get too.
Please remember once buses have pulled in front of the high school it is illegal to go around a bus with the stop arm out.
Open House Information
Open House will be Tuesday, August 11th from 5:00-7:00 PM.
PK will meet at 5:30 in the PK classroom.
New Principal Mr. Grider will meet with MS/HS students and parents in the HS Gym at 5:15.
Mrs. Byrne & Mrs. Moore will meet with 6th grade students/parents in Mrs. Moore's room at 5:30.
Mrs. Byrne will meet with 9th grade students/parents in the HS Gym at 6:00.
Mrs. Byrne will meet with students and parents about concurrent enrollment at 6:30 in the HS Gym.
Staff will be available to answer questions about bus routes and to collect technology insurance fees.
Teachers will be available in their classrooms to meet students, allow elementary to drop off their supplies and to answer any questions you may have.
August 12th-Golf & Slow Pitch Softball Interest Meetings in the High School Library
August 12th at 4:30 there will be a meeting to gauge student interest in slow pitch softball. Any parents who would like to discuss the slow pitch softball program at Alex are encouraged to attend.
August 12th at 5:00 there will be a meeting to gauge student interest in a golf program. Any parents who would like to discuss the possibility of a golf program at Alex are encouraged to attend.
Enrollment
We still have several parents who have not finalized enrollment. If you completed two parts, you should be fine and do not need to reach out.

Yearbook Update
We will have multiple years of past yearbooks available at open house to purchase including 2023-2024.
We are working with the printer on getting the 2024-2025 yearbooks in and distributed.
We will sell 2025-2026 yearbooks once the 24-25 yearbooks have been distributed.
