ALEX, OKLAHOMA - Members of the Alex FFA and 4-H Chapters were incredibly successful at this year’s Grady County Fair. Winning both in the show ring and with exhibits, members are excited to move on to future competitions.

Carter Chambers, sophomore FFA member, was named champion in the Tractor Driving contest, passing a safety test, driving a seed drill through the designated course, and backing a 4-wheeled trailer into the “barn.” Chambers will represent Grady County at the State Tractor Driving Contest held in Tulsa, Okla. in October. 

McKenna Hurley, sophomore FFA member, received Grand Champion Wether with her crossbred lamb, as well as, Breed Champion Hampshire Wether.

Ryder Drennan, seventh grade 4-H member, was awarded “Best in Show” after entering 6 vegetable entries. Drennan also exhibited the Breed Champion Suffolk wether lamb,  Reserve Breed Champion Southdown wether, and Reserve Breed Champion Dorset ewe. 

Kendall Dunn, seventh grade 4-H member, won Champion Intermediate Swine Showman, Breed Champion York Gilt, and Reserve Champion York Barrow.

Cope Otey, fifth-grade 4-H member, was Reserve Berkshire Barrow.
