Elementary School
(4 years of age through Grade 5)

Middle School and High School
(Grades 6 through 12)

Lunch Full price: $2.00
  Reduced price: $.40

All elementary students are encouraged to pay in advance for meals.  Special meals will be given to students who fall behind in payment; you will be notified ahead of time.

No charges are allowed for students grades 6 through 12.

Alex Public School encourages each household to fill out only one lunch application per family.  Please take time to examine the lunch application as much of the funding for our school comes from approved applications.  Applications are confidential and should be turned in to the office. The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) is a federally assisted meal program operating in public and nonprofit private schools and residential child care institutions. It provides nutritionally balanced, low-cost or free lunches to children each school day. The program was established under the National School Lunch Act, signed by President Harry Truman in 1946.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) prohibits discrimination in all its programs and activities on the basis of race, color, national origin, age, disability, and where applicable, sex, marital status, familial status, parental status, religion, sexual orientation, genetic information, political beliefs, reprisal, or because all or part of an individual's income is derived from any public assistance program. (Not all prohibited bases apply to all programs.) Persons with disabilities who require alternative means for communication of program information (Braille, large print, audiotape, etc.) should contact USDA's TARGET Center at (202) 720-2600 (voice and TDD).

News from the director...

During the 2009-2010 school year, only one lunch entree will be offered most days although there will be one or two days a week when two choices are offered. Students are encouraged view the school menus to plan accordingly.
